1) Tell us a little about yourself – where you grew up, what schools you attended, when you became a Christian, etc.
I grew up in South Jersey in a little town called Marlton. I attended Cherokee High School. My husband, Mark, and I grew up 15 minutes away from each other but never knew it until we met and married in 2008.
I studied English and Music at Temple University in Philadelphia. I am currently working on my Masters in Music Composition portfolio for Fall 2017 admission. Pray for my journey!
I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was five years old. My relationship with God deepened in college into utter dependence on the Bible as God’s letter of love and law for my life. I learned to call upon Him as my Everything Father, a position I needed to give Him in my life to surrender completely to His will. With daily surrender, I learned to trust in Jesus’ victory over this world that we cannot control. My baptism verse at fourteen years old was John 7:38, “He who believes in Me, as the Scriptures have said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Since calling me to conduct children’s choirs at King’s Christian School in 2006, the Lord has been training me to be on my knees in prayer for His ministry through me. I’ve learned that for Christ’s living water to flow through me, I need to get out of His way.
2) What word describes you best and why?
Growing. Growing in my walk in Christ and in relationship with others is precious to me.
3) What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is ice cream. I created a special recipe for organic, dairy-free ice cream that only takes 5 minutes to make! I love experimenting with flavors. I make it almost every week during our hot California summers.
4) What are the goals and vision for your ministry here at FCBCLA?
With each choir the Lord has blessed me to conduct, each person He has blessed me to teach, and each song He has blessed me to sing, God has taught me that our overflowing joy is found in knowing Jesus as Savior and Lord; growing together in His church; and bringing others to Him. My main goals in ministry are to love God and obey Him. I work to foster growth, confidence, and trust in the Lord with each heart He allows me to touch.
