Matthew 24 has several eschatological parables (parables that are concerned with the final events in the history of the world). Through this seminar, we will look at the following parables in-depth from an eschatological point of view: parable of the 10 virgins (the power of living prepared); parable of the talents (the power of calculated investment); parable of the sheep and the goats (the power of living kindly in a cruel world).

Speaker’s Biography
Dr. Rick Durst has served in a number of roles at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, from full-time professor to academic vice president to director of the Southern California campus and founding director of the online education program. He will be the director of the new Bay Area Campus in Fremont when it opens Fall 2016.

講員簡介 :
曾任中國社會科學院世界宗教研究所研究員、學術委員會委員，現任中國人民大學哲學院教授、博士生導師。曾在美國哈佛大學、美國富樂神學院，英國伯明翰大 學、加拿大多倫多大學、丹麥奧胡斯大學、香港浸會大學、香港中文大學、台灣輔仁大學，以及國內多個大學和學術機構擔任客座教授、訪問研究員或學術委員，並 曾數十次出國進行學術訪問或參加學術會議。有多篇文章被譯為英、法、德、俄、日、丹麥、西班牙、葡萄牙、意大利等文字在國外發表。主要從事宗教學理論、宗 教哲學、基督教神學等領域的研究。曾編寫《中國大百科全書》宗教卷基督教部分條目，主持編寫《中國大百科全書》第二版基督教全部條目，以及《宗教大詞典》 宗教學全部條目和《宗教學小詞典》全書。
